Our family had the opportunity to be in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games, of which Glasgow was the host city. What a great experience! Glasgow was absolutely buzzing with life and energy leading up to and during the games. We also had the opportunity to watch some of the festivities in person. Dena got a ticket to watch the Opening Ceremonies with a couple of friends at the Glasgow Green, one of the live venues. Then, our whole family ended up getting tickets for one of the days of the Rugby Sevens tournament at Ibrox. We had such great seats! And the atmosphere was amazing as fans passionately cheered on their favorite teams!

Having never seen Rugby Sevens we were shocked at how much action and how fast paced the games were. For those not in the know, there are only 7 players per team on the field, which allows for much higher scoring than the full Rugby 15’s. The games are also very short, lasting only 20 minutes or so. We had a blast cheering on the underdogs and Team Scotland. It was such a privilege to be in the city for such a historic and fun event.
