One of the things our family has striven to do since living in our new home is to embrace our new culture. We’ve tried to discover truly Scottish and truly Glaswegian aspects of life and culture and make them part of our life and practices. But one of the realizations that we have come to is that in living life in this new place, there are still aspects of our home culture that help make us who we are. One of those things for me is watching American football. Part of that goes back to my Dad both playing and being a fan of the sport. I have vivid childhood memories of watching games with him and discussing strategy with him. Because of those memories, it has been fun to expose my son to a bit of what I grew up following during this football season. Here is a photo of the two of us enjoying football and cheering on our favorite team, even if it is from afar.
