This weekend my friend P and I decided to go hiking. P is visiting Scotland for the first time, so naturally he wanted to see a castle as well. We discovered a spot to do both- King’s Seat and Castle Campbell!  P and I parked in the castle’s car park and then made our way toward King’s Seat, a short, but fairly steep 2,100 feet. We made the trek around the circuit of King’s Seat and the two hills flanking it and ended our day by touring Castle Campbell. All in all it was a lot of fun filled with great views and good conversation, which I find to be one of the best parts of hiking with others. I’m excited about finding this spot. I have no doubt that I’ll be back here with others who want to do a bit of hiking as well as taking in a castle. Here are a few photos from the day.
