This morning I was in my car on my way home from a meeting when I stopped at a traffic light. As I came to a stop I noticed something very odd. Along with the many people crossing the street on their way to work, school or wherever, there seemed to be 2 special pedestrians crossing the street. I could not believe what I was seeing. Two large turkeys were gingerly crossing the street with everyone else. Not only that, they were using the crosswalk to do it! They did not seem the least concerned about their welfare (after all, they were crossing at the crosswalk). It was almost as if they were trying to blend in with all of the people. Thinking back on it, I can imagine them saying, “Nothing to see here! Move along. Move along.” I found myself laughing out loud, which is not something I normally do when I am alone. Usually, laughter happens in my head. Realizing that this was one of the few times that I did not have my camera with me, I quickly grabbed my phone and started taking pictures as quickly as I could. I was the third car back from the light, but I still got a couple of good shots. You have to click on the image for the first to photos to see the turkeys. The best shot is the one on the bottom. I snapped it as the light turned green and I passed the turkeys, who at that point, had decided to cross the other street…using the crosswalk. After all, the coast was clear and the light was green.
